The founding, operation and maintenance of a museum, which, without being aimed at making a profit, is accessible to the public and at the service of society and its development.

It acquires, retains, researches, presents, documents and publishes the history of the diamond (processing) industry in Amsterdam and surroundings, as well as its affiliated industries, for purposes of study, education and pleasure.

The Supervisory Board determines the salary and other conditions of employment of the members of the Management Board, based on the Coster Diamonds Conditions of Employment. The staff’s remuneration policy follows the Collective Labour Agreement for the Jewellery Industry.
